Monk Took Book Achievements Guide: All 51, Sorted by Rarity

FAQ

How many achievements does Monk Took Book have?
Exactly 51 — verified entry-by-entry against Steam's official global achievement stats on September 13, 2026. Some third-party trackers have listed 52; the official global stats page counts 51, and the full table on this page is the entry-level proof.
What is the rarest achievement in Monk Took Book?
Sell shelf at 8.1% of players, just below Complete thy collection (8.6%) — the sacred-collection finale. Both sit under 10% even in a launch window when early percentages run generous.
Are there missable achievements in Monk Took Book?
Nothing in the list is missable in the save-wiping sense — every achievement maps to repeatable actions (checkouts, kills, purchases, perks) or progression milestones (shelf levels 1-5). The complete-thy-collection achievement simply demands the long game.
Do achievements unlock in the demo?
No. The demo is a separate Steam app with no achievement set attached — all 51 belong to the full game.

The verified count: exactly 51

Achievement guides are only as good as their counts, so this one starts with the receipt: every entry below was checked one-by-one against Steam’s official global achievement stats on September 13, 2026 — 51 entries, no more, no less. Some trackers elsewhere list 52. When you see a count that doesn’t match the official stats page, you now know which number to trust.

What the checkout line tells you

The five “Checkout” achievements are a hidden tutorial in themselves: common → uncommon → rare → very rare → unique (96.7% down to 47.2%). That’s the game quietly confirming it has five book rarity tiers — half the library hasn’t checked out a single unique book yet, which makes the unique tier the first real milestone of a serious collection. It also means the book list and your symbol zones need to scale by rarity, not just symbol.

The shelf ladder

Unlock shelf 1 through 5 form the cleanest progression spine in the list: 92.4% → 78.2% → 63.3% → 31.8% → 9.2%. Three-quarters of monks reach shelf 2; barely one in ten reaches shelf 5. If you want a rough progress yardstick: shelf 3 puts you ahead of a third of the player base, shelf 4 ahead of two-thirds. Combined with “Sell shelf” (8.1% — you can sell shelving back!), the storage economy has more depth than the store page lets on; the shelf organization guide and the best upgrades page cover the spending side.

The viking nights

Dedicated coverage: the vikings guide tiers all five types with counters, and the spirits guide covers the ghost interactions. The combat achievements confirm an entire enemy family the community had only rumored: viking grunt (78.0%), archer (72.8%), raider (57.5%), fire archer (40.5%) and berserker (36.9%). Grunts and archers are effectively part of the early night rotation; berserkers and fire archers belong to the back half. Alongside them: To catch a thief (63.4% — a thief who steals from the collection is confirmed and common), Put out a fire (63.2%, so fire is a real nightly hazard with its own bucket-and-well loop at 62.6%), and Perish (25.8% — a quarter of players have died, so the nights do bite).

The bestiary breakdowns live in our enemies guide — including the achievement-confirmed Dread Abbot boss page (here) — with the night defense guide covering the toolkit.

Ghosts and the Dread Abbot

The supernatural half is now confirmed in triplicate: Exorcise a ghost (46.4%), Banish a ghost to the nether realm (37.7% — two different ghost interactions), and the big one: Exorcise the Dread Abbot at 23.2% — a named ghostly boss. Fewer than a quarter of players have faced the Dread Abbot, making it the game’s first confirmed late-night highlight. This also confirms what the spirits guide reported from footage: the holy cross (bought by 37.2% of players, on pace with the ghost achievements) is the ghost answer.

The perk economy

The full perk-by-perk breakdown — tiered by adoption rate with the reasoning behind it — lives in the skills and perks guide. Thirteen “Attain perk” achievements confirm the perk names: shelf height, book carry, torch embers, dash duration, dash recovery, dash speed, tool slots, dagger, crossbow, book resilience, double jump, max health and bucket. The adoption curve is its own guide: shelf height (65.0%) and book carry (58.5%) are the people’s perks; double jump (10.2%) and max health (10.0%) are deep builds. Note what the dash trio implies — there’s a dash move, with three separate upgrade lines. The skills and perks guide tracks the system; best upgrades covers the spending order.

Working toward 100%

The shape of the list makes the route obvious. The checkout line, shelf ladder, shop purchases and early kills happen inside normal play — the beginner guide takes you through all of it without achievement-hunting. The long poles are the perk spread (thirteen investments, some clearly late-game), the collection finale at 8.6%, and the viking back-catalog (berserkers and fire archers arrive only on later, meaner nights — the night orders guide covers surviving those shifts). And “Perish” needs no farming advice at all: 25.8% of monks earned it by accident.

If a patch adds or changes achievements, the patch notes tracker catches it weekly and this table updates with the next verified sweep.
